| Im guessing you and fuzzymonkey have manual transmissions correct?   What I understand is on automatic Z's that switch under the gas pedal is to put your transmission into a special WOT mode which causes it to rev higher before shifting gears.  Its like a proformance mode thats only activated when you go WOT and hit that switch.  Similiar to what an ALC (Automatic line controller) does. Now why a manual tranny car would still have the switch installed I dont know.  I would think it was more work to install it then just leave it out but that would also make sense why it is not plugged into anything. I discovered this switch once when I was sitting in the car with the engine off "dreaming" of what it would be like after I got my rebuild done lol.  I slammed on the gas pedal just having fun and I heard a *CLICK* when I hit the floor with it.  Then I started researching.  Turns out a lot of cars have this feature.  Nissan has also implimented something similiar into the newer Altima's and I am sure many other cars also.  Most people dont cram the pedal into the floor very often tho.  I drove the car for 2 years before I found the switch.
